America's Rivalry is back, Beckham looking to impact

America’s Rivalry is back when the New York Giants take on the Dallas Cowboys at home this Sunday. It will be the 108th time meeting with the Cowboys taking last year’s win, 31-28. Both teams are hoping to have keys stars, Odell Beckham Jr. and Dez Bryant, put on another amazing performance like they did last fall.

Although Beckham has been dealing with a lingering hamstring injury, he has made it known that it will be difficult to keep him off the field. Of course, Bryant’s status is still questionable while he continues to rehab a broken foot from the season-opening 27-26 win over the Giants.

Last year, Bryant finished with seven catches for 86 yards and two scores, including the game-winner. Beckham wasn’t far behind when the, then rookie, broke the ice into NFL stardom with 10 catches for 146 yards, two touchdowns – with one being his memorable one-handed catch that took social media by storm.

Per David Helman, Staff Writer of DallasCowboys.com, Beckham said, “It’s something that is not in the moment right now. It’s something that kind of happened in the past… We try and leave it in the past, but, this being Giants-Cowboys and that being that moment that it was, it always seems to find its way back up.”

Despite the Dez Bryant injury, the Cowboys will look to repeat their win with a healthy pass-rush which will include: Greg Hardy, Randy Gregory, Tyrone Crawford and DeMarcus Lawrence. It will be the first time this season that Dallas has had their full pass rush available.

Todd Archer, ESPN Staff Writer, reported Lawrence’s excitement for the upcoming game.

“Four pass-rushers getting after the quarterback? Can’t get better than that,” Lawrence said. “We keep practicing the way we practice, I feel like we’re going to be pretty good.”

Both, Cowboys and Giants are coming off of loses and their meeting Sunday is a key NFC East battle that could have major implications in determining playoff chances for each team.
